Rockin’ for Rabbits

We had a wonderful time performing at the rehearsal dinner wedding thingy for our good friends Kate and Lauren.  Everyone was exceptionally nice, and went well beyond accommodating, and for that, we thank you.  We saw horses, enjoyed some amazing food,  inspired a small child to dance (not the first time that’s happened – see Pericles video), and most importantly of all, we made the brides smile.  We were honored to be a part of such an exciting time in your lives.  Congratulations!

This week, we’re playing a show at The Factory.  A benefit show, in fact.  For bunnies!  As always, there is no cover charge, with a $5 suggested donation.  100% of the door sales goes to the House Rabbit Network (HRN).

So that’s 8pm this Friday, July 29th at The Jam Factory with The Fitted Shirt and special guests.  Visit the event page for details.

Speaking of special guests, the talented Jamie Feinberg joined us on keyboards and vocals for the wedding rehearsal, and will be joining us again on Friday.  She is the official unofficial fifth member of the band.

If this rhino was on a t-shirt, you’d buy it, right?

Canceled?!

Yup, the show at McGann’s on March 18 has been canceled. Lame, eh?

Well that’s okay, because it’s been moved to Saturday March 26. Yay!

Hit us up for tickets if that’s something you’re into. We’ve got connections. tunafishdiscrepancy@gmail.com
Holla. Is that how it’s spelled? I think so, but I’m not quite hip.

Remember when it said McGann’s up there a few lines? And remember how the text was blue? That means it’s a link, connected to the pub on Google Maps. Fancy! And we mustn’t forget our friends at F Nice Records for hosting this little shin dig. Is that how you spell shin dig? I think so, but I’m not quite hip.

In other news, we had a blast at the [Factory]. We are proud of my The Fitted Shirt! I’ll be recording a couple TFS songs tomorrow. Watch out for album #2. And check out the first one if you haven’t. Yeah, you can get Hybernation from iTunes and Amazon, but come on, be a fan! Go to the show and buy a disc!

Ok, wrapping things up, because I’m getting punchy. There’s another stupid video of TFD recording and goofing off. It’s on the youtubes, but I’ll post it where folks can find it easy. After my free Indian dinner. Yum!!

How about at a zoo?!

A lot of fun stuff is happening in TunaLand.  We’ve been having a ball, playing shows with a bunch of cool bands such as A Simple Complex, The Evil Streaks, Chris Emery, and Drifting Son.  Some of these shows were recorded, one of which is available over atwebhat. The show was recorded, engineered, etc. by Mitch Bosse and Christine Zombik, two very cool and talented people. If I did this right, the picture below should link you to the album. Nope, I don’t know what I’m doing. Just click the blue letters above the image.

And what an image, eh? All our faces right up in there! That’s the fine work of Dan McDermott, the guy behind Headhat Records. Both our names are in the credits, but he really does all the work. I’m just all like, that sounds awesome!

What else is going on? Oh, the time tour we went on was a lot of fun, though full of… chaos. There will be more on our time traveling misadventures in the near future in a documentary by Todd Lajoie. Time travel is weird. Todd filmed the movie, but he hasn’t started yet. It’s complicated, but there will be a live album to go along with that.

We’re prepping for the first studio record, which is going to be all sorts of awesome. Antics will ensue, records will be made.

After all that nonsense is out of the way, we’ll be back in da clubs, causing involuntary head bobs and such. Maybe we should do a record release party? How about at a zoo?! That would be awesome. Do you think a zoo would let us perform? I’ll have to look into that.

At any rate, 2011 is looking good, and we want you to be a part of it. Make sure you’ve liked us on the facebook, nobody cares about myspace, but we’re still there, and check out the Reverb Nation page.

Good Night, Sweet 2010

Shows this weekend went very well! Friday night at Madison’s Irish Pub we had a great time hanging out with Sex Tax and Mongrel, both great bands made up of great people. The night was packed with rock, cans of tuna, foxy grandmas, and general goodness. If you missed it, you’ll want to try and avoid such behavior in the future.

Saturday was an eclectic night at the [Jam] Factory starting off with the improv comedy of Granite State Theater Sports, those crazy talented folks, followed by Not Your Mom’s Sushi: A Rockin’ Christmas Spectacular, combining the powers of Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater and Neptune Sushi Productions to raise money for both companies. Rich Hurley of Granite State Theater Sports emceed the evening, providing hilarious commentary, including our set… whether he wanted to or not.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows (as performers or audience members), The [Jam] Factory, and Madison’s Irish Pub. You all rock.

We’re heading into the studio on Thursday to finish up the live album documenting our tour through time and space, so be sure to check that out sometime next month. Other than that, it’s all relaxation for the rest of the year.

Happy holidays everyone!

Micro-Tour

We are making our first trek out of state to play a show as Tuna Fish Discrepancy.  Was that worded weird?  Well, it’s going to be a blast and believe you me, you want to go to there.  I don’t know about the rest of the band, but I’m counting this as a tour.  A micro-tour.  A short micro-tour.  Because it’s one show.  So there it is.  There’s only one chance to catch this tour (one show), and if you miss it you’ll totally regret it.  Seriously.

This mini micro-tour is brought to you by the fine folks at F Nice Records, so check out their site and stuff, because that’s what good people do. Not that I’m here to judge. Gosh I’m tired and shouldn’t be typing right now. I should just type the details and get on with not doing anything with my day.
