I have a little catching up to do. Lots of cool goings on. First, I’d like to thank Carly Jo Geer for taking the time to record some stuff for the upcoming TFD record. She is one hilarious human being, and I’m happy to be able to immortalize her with our ridiculousness.
We recently played a show with some very talented people. Brainfood, Monkey Suit, and Nine Unknown (for which Tim and I play guitar and keys, respectively). It was a very fun, laid-back day and I can’t wait to do it again next year.
Coming up on Thursday, 9/29 with A Simple Complex at the Shaskeen on Elm Street in Manchester, NH. Check out the event page on Facebook and join us. Beer for Boobs! Why wouldn’t you come?!
I’ll be filling in on the bass guitar for The Fitted Shirt for a couple shows. First up is Ghostlight Theater’s Zombie Ball on Saturday, 10/22. Then on Sunday, 10/30 at The Jam Factory for Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater’s Halloween Party. The Fitted Shirt will be infusing their set with Halloween themed songs. (TFD will be playing the NYMMT Halloween show, keeping to our regular set. There are enough monsters in our songs as it stands!) Both shows are sure to be filled with weirdness you don’t want to miss.
I recently shot a music video for Win Your Love with director Allie Dodd. I hope I don’t look silly. I trust Allie. I’ll post the link as soon as it’s up. (More videos are on the way as we get closer to the album’s completion).
I feel like I’m forgetting something. I probably am. So it goes.
See you soon!
We had a wonderful time performing at the rehearsal dinner wedding thingy for our good friends Kate and Lauren. Everyone was exceptionally nice, and went well beyond accommodating, and for that, we thank you. We saw horses, enjoyed some amazing food, inspired a small child to dance (not the first time that’s happened – see Pericles video), and most importantly of all, we made the brides smile. We were honored to be a part of such an exciting time in your lives. Congratulations!
This week, we’re playing a show at The Factory. A benefit show, in fact. For bunnies! As always, there is no cover charge, with a $5 suggested donation. 100% of the door sales goes to the House Rabbit Network (HRN).
Speaking of special guests, the talented Jamie Feinberg joined us on keyboards and vocals for the wedding rehearsal, and will be joining us again on Friday. She is the official unofficial fifth member of the band.
If this rhino was on a t-shirt, you’d buy it, right?
Yep, the show on March 26 at McGanns has been canceled. Apparently other bands didn’t confirm when it was rescheduled or something or other, but that’s the way it goes. We shall save some gas money and hope the kind folks at F Nice Records remember us fondly the next time around. And Christine too.
Recording is going great. We’re awfully excited to show you what we’ve been conjuring up. Basic tracks are nearing completion and to be marinated in weird until juuuusst right. You’ll see what we mean.
Take care, you crazy kids you.
Yup, the show at McGann’s on March 18 has been canceled. Lame, eh?
Well that’s okay, because it’s been moved to Saturday March 26. Yay!
Hit us up for tickets if that’s something you’re into. We’ve got connections. firstname.lastname@example.org
Holla. Is that how it’s spelled? I think so, but I’m not quite hip.
Remember when it said McGann’s up there a few lines? And remember how the text was blue? That means it’s a link, connected to the pub on Google Maps. Fancy! And we mustn’t forget our friends at F Nice Records for hosting this little shin dig. Is that how you spell shin dig? I think so, but I’m not quite hip.
In other news, we had a blast at the [Factory]. We are proud of my The Fitted Shirt! I’ll be recording a couple TFS songs tomorrow. Watch out for album #2. And check out the first one if you haven’t. Yeah, you can get Hybernation from iTunes and Amazon, but come on, be a fan! Go to the show and buy a disc!
Ok, wrapping things up, because I’m getting punchy. There’s another stupid video of TFD recording and goofing off. It’s on the youtubes, but I’ll post it where folks can find it easy. After my free Indian dinner. Yum!!
Saturday 2/19/2011 was day one of our adventure in recording a record. We captured drum performances for three songs, “The Devil Don’t Share Nachos With No One”, “Vampires”, and “Black Hole Smile”, on which Tom did some very interesting stuff. This is going to be a fun record.
The idea is to take you nice folks who visit here along for the ride, which basically means I’m going to subject you to weirdness once or twice a week. Here’s the video from Day 1:
Thanks for watching,

Details on this one to come. That’s all I got for now.
In the midst of all this live rock action, we are recording our first, proper LP. It’s rather exciting.
A world tour of New England is sure to follow.
So, um, see you all on Friday?
A lot of fun stuff is happening in TunaLand. We’ve been having a ball, playing shows with a bunch of cool bands such as A Simple Complex, The Evil Streaks, Chris Emery, and Drifting Son. Some of these shows were recorded, one of which is available over atwebhat. The show was recorded, engineered, etc. by Mitch Bosse and Christine Zombik, two very cool and talented people. If I did this right, the picture below should link you to the album. Nope, I don’t know what I’m doing. Just click the blue letters above the image.
And what an image, eh? All our faces right up in there! That’s the fine work of Dan McDermott, the guy behind Headhat Records. Both our names are in the credits, but he really does all the work. I’m just all like, that sounds awesome!
What else is going on? Oh, the time tour we went on was a lot of fun, though full of… chaos. There will be more on our time traveling misadventures in the near future in a documentary by Todd Lajoie. Time travel is weird. Todd filmed the movie, but he hasn’t started yet. It’s complicated, but there will be a live album to go along with that.
We’re prepping for the first studio record, which is going to be all sorts of awesome. Antics will ensue, records will be made.
After all that nonsense is out of the way, we’ll be back in da clubs, causing involuntary head bobs and such. Maybe we should do a record release party? How about at a zoo?! That would be awesome. Do you think a zoo would let us perform? I’ll have to look into that.
At any rate, 2011 is looking good, and we want you to be a part of it. Make sure you’ve liked us on the facebook, nobody cares about myspace, but we’re still there, and check out the Reverb Nation page.
