Opening Night

Hello everyone!

We’ve been busy working on albums and are very excited for what’s to come.  But we’ll get to that later.  I want to talk about this little show called Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater’s production of BBAJ opens tonight at the Amato Theater, 56 Mont Vernon Street, Milford, NH. Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8. The whole band is in on this. Nat, Tom and I are in the show and Tim is sound designer and live engineer. Yup, we’ve dragged Tim into the world of musical theater.

So, what’s it about? BBAJ is a satirical “punk” rock musical about Andrew Jackson’s rise to presidency. What can you expect? Blood. Foul language. Rock. Antics. And though it’s over-the-top funny, it tackles some serious shit from our nation’s history that is relevant to today’s political climate. So, you might think about stuff.

The show is NYMMT’s biggest production yet. Sure, there are fancy lights, video projection, etc., but the thing that will really make this show memorable is its talented, hilarious cast. I’m truly proud to be part of this.

You can buy tickets online here, though if you want to come tonight, you’ll have to get tickets at the door. However you do it, you should check it out. It’s going to be something else.

Before The Virus Took Hold

Tomorrow night I’ll be filling in on bass for The Fitted Shirt at Ghostlight Theater Co.’s First Annual Zombie Ball. We’ll be turning Club Lafayette into a graveyard of dancing corpses. Also, a graveyard of discounted Ghostlight memberships and a 50/50 raffle. You’ll also get to see this band called Mask & Raid. Oh, and check out these sweet posters:

All right, I think that’s it for now. See you tomorrow!

[Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater]

If you haven’t already, stop by Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater. Keep up with the [title of blog] videos leading up to the NH premier of [title of show]. If you saw their production of “Musical of Musicals: The Musical”, then you know how talented this cast is. [Very].

What does this have to do with Tuna Fish Discrepancy? Sure, I’m a board member. (I accidentally typed “beard member”, and felt it was worth retyping because it is also true). But we’ve also got something rather special in the works. Keep watching here or there to find out what the heck I’m talking about.

We’ve got some shows coming up that I should tell you about so you can see us do what we do.

November 30, All Asia, Cambridge MA
December 3, Milly’s Tavern, Manchester NH
December 17, Shenanigans, Milford NH (I think this one is happening. You’ll hear about it next month if it’s a go.)

Talk to you soon,
Ross
